Club 33

There are a few select people in the world that get the incredible opportunity to go inside the exclusive, members-only club in Disneyland known as Club 33. I am one of them!

A couple years ago I found out my aunt knew a friend of a friend related to the Disney family. My aunts Kim and Cindy may be the only two ladies that might know more than me or my mom about Disneyland. They are Disney freaks! They graciously offered to contact their friend and get us on the list at Club 33. When my mom told me the news I almost peed myself. This had been a dream of ours since we were little. Several times we had tried to sneak in to the club, just to get a glimpse but were never successful. This would be our opportunity of a lifetime!

First of all, for those of you who don't know, Club 33 is located in New Orleans Square just above the Blue Bayou restaurant. To get in, you must be a member, or have a member put you down for a reservation. Only  487 people can have membership at a time, so you can imagine how hard it is to get in. It's usually reserved for celebrities and political leaders to hold meetings and enjoy a very upscale meal inside the park. The club membership is not open to the public, but every once in a while a few spots will open up. The waiting period can take years, even decades, but if you get in, it's well worth the wait.

We spent the morning in Disneyland knowing we had a reservation in Club 33 that afternoon for lunch. There is a dress code for the club, so we had to pack extra clothes and leave them in a locker for the morning. We arrived at the club for our reservation and were literally antsy waiting to get in. We had all dreamed of this experience since we were little and we were NOT disappointed.

We waited outside on the streets of New Orleans Square to be called in. Then we walked up a flight of stairs to our dining room. Even the stairs took my breath away. Sorry for the poor quality photos, but my nice camera died and we were working off of iPhone quality pics.

We went up the stairs and into a HUGE dining room where we were wined and dined for the rest of the afternoon with a 6-course meal!

1st course: Bread and butter - like no bread I've ever tasted before! And crackers and cheese

2nd course: Raspberry Rice Pudding topped with Spinach and Duck Breast

3rd course: Crab Cake (again, sorry for the horrible quality pictures)

4th course: Fruit Bowl with the juiciest fruit I've ever had!

5th course: Breaded Shrimp with Mango Salsa

6th course: Main Course - I got the salmon, Blake and my sister got the Filet Mignon

The younger boys got gourmet cheese ravioli:

7th course (and my favorite course): Dessert!!!

Choice of Creme Brulee

Chocolate Cake

Chocolate Trio

Or a cheesecake with a chocolate shot

Of course we had to treat them like real shots...

After lunch, we got to wander around and explore the whole club. It was like a very sophisticated playground in there! Priceless antiques, stunning chandeliers, old elevators, exclusive souvenirs, even the bathrooms were amazing!

One of a kind original art:

Then we hung out on the balcony, overlooking the streets of New Orleans Square, while we digested our food:

From these pictures, it might not look like much, but it will definitely go down in my book as one of the best experiences I've ever had! It was by far the best food I've ever tasted and some of the prettiest trinkets I've ever seen. It was hard going back into the park trying to be normal and have a crazy good time after feeling so sophisticated for a couple hours in Club 33. We managed though :)

If you ever get a chance to go, I recommend the salmon, but everything is delicious. The wait staff was top notch, the scenery was to die for, and the food was unbelievable. The price was outrageous, but worth every penny. If someone offers you a chance, you better drop everything to go. That was a once in a lifetime experience! Literally. I don't know that I'll ever get another chance to go in. I cherish these memories dearly!
